Hi, I’m Jes! I am an Autistic Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication Sciences pursuing a minor in Sociocultural Anthropology at the Louisiana State University.

I work primarily under the mentorship of Janet A. Norris, Ph.D., CCC-SLP in the Language Intervention Lab.

My scholarship combines qualitative, participatory, and visual methodologies in autism research to examine how communicative environments affect social participation and inclusion, communication access, and quality of life for autistic people.

I advocate for social inclusion, communication access, and improved quality of life through social models of disability and relationship-centered care.

Outside of work I enjoy music, running, writing, and befriending any animal I see!
